"I
do feel that it is so very important that children have their
eyes examined. The results are so important for their future!
Thanks a million!"
-Lori, Kimberly's mom

Rollerblading,
swimming, snorkeling, fishing, riding bikes, and video games are
just a few things that Kimberly loves to do. She also does great
in the classroom. So, needless to say, it was a big surprise for
Kimberly, her parents, and even her teachers to find out she had
a serious problem with her eyes.
Her
right eye was found to have the indications of a significant opacity
and a myopic refractive error resulting in anisometropia. At Kimberly's
age, prompt treatment of both of these conditions was very important.
Kimberly
underwent surgery to remove the opacity (a cataract) and her doctor
prescribed glasses and patching for the refractive error. Within
a few short months, Kimberly's vision in her right eye went from
20/200 to 20/50.
Throughout
the whole time, Kimberly was very brave and thought of only one
thing, "getting her eye fixed".

Kimberly's screening indicated anisometropia and an opacity

Kimberly's
mom, Lori, occasionally calls Vision Research with an update and
continues to express her appreciation for the screening program
that came to her daughter's school.
